Child Safety Standards

DutchDate is an adult dating platform. Only individuals aged 18 or older may create an account, view profiles, or send messages. Account registration requires self-declaration of age, and our Terms of Service make underage use a material breach that results in immediate, permanent removal.

• Date of birth is captured at signup and stored to enforce the 18+ minimum.
• Any account where we have reason to believe the user is under 18 is suspended pending verification, then permanently deleted if not validated.
• Profile photos depicting minors — alone or with the user — are prohibited and removed on detection.

Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM) and any conduct that constitutes child sexual exploitation or grooming is strictly prohibited on DutchDate. We treat CSAE as the highest-severity violation. There is no warning step, no second chance: offending accounts are terminated, content is preserved as evidence, and the matter is reported to the appropriate authorities.

Prohibited content and conduct includes — without limitation — any image, video, text, link, or live exchange that:

• depicts a minor in a sexual or sexualised context, real or computer-generated;
• solicits sexual content from, sexual contact with, or the meeting of a minor;
• shares or promotes channels, links, or marketplaces hosting CSAM;
• portrays a minor as an adult to circumvent our age policy.

We layer multiple controls to detect and remove offending content quickly:

• Hash matching: photos uploaded to DutchDate are scanned against known CSAM hash lists (e.g. NCMEC, IWF) before being made visible to other users.
• Automated classifiers: a content-classification model flags images or text suspected of depicting minors or grooming behaviour for human review.
• Behavioural signals: interaction patterns, message contents and reporting velocity feed an anti-abuse system that proactively limits and reviews suspicious accounts.
• Human review: a trained Trust & Safety team handles every CSAE-related escalation 7 days a week, including out-of-hours cover for time-sensitive cases.

Any user — registered or not — can report CSAE concerns through multiple channels:

• The in-app Report action on any profile or chat (reason: "Child safety / underage").
• Direct email to hello@dutchdate.app (monitored daily, including weekends).
• The web report form on our Safety page.

Reports relating to a minor receive priority triage. The reporter is never disclosed to the reported user. Where applicable, reporters are referred to the relevant national hotline (e.g. NCMEC CyberTipline in the United States, IWF in the United Kingdom, an INHOPE member in their country).

When we identify suspected CSAM on the platform, DutchDate reports the material to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) CyberTipline in line with 18 U.S.C. § 2258A. Where the suspected offender or victim is outside the United States, we engage the relevant INHOPE member organisation or local law-enforcement contact.

Records relating to a reported account are preserved per applicable law (typically 90 days, extendable on official preservation request). DutchDate cooperates with valid legal process from competent authorities and will provide stored information as required by law.

If we determine that an account holder is under 18 — whether through a report, an internal review, or a user disclosure — we immediately:

• suspend the account so the user can no longer be discovered, messaged, or contacted;
• preserve information necessary for any subsequent investigation;
• delete or anonymise the underage account's personal data after the preservation period, in line with our Privacy Policy;
• review the accounts of any adult who attempted to interact with the minor, and remove them where the interaction was sexual, exploitative, or otherwise harmful.

• Every Trust & Safety reviewer completes recurring CSAE-handling training, including indicators of grooming and trauma-informed reviewer wellbeing protocols.
• Engineering changes to detection, reporting, and moderation flows are reviewed for child-safety impact prior to release.
• We publish material updates to these standards on this page and notify the Designated Contact mailbox of internal changes.
• Independent reviews of our child-safety controls are conducted at least annually.
